Your Garmin, TomTom, Lowrance, Magellan or Humminbird unit comes with an excellent one year factory warranty. Failure rarely occurs within the first year of ownership and many customers appreciate extended peace of mind to protect their significant investment. With our extended warranties you are able to protect your investment long after the original manufacturer's warranty expires.
Ensure peace of mind by adding extended coverage for the second or third year of ownership. Our plan offers you a one-time replacement or repair if your unit becomes inoperable from normal use during the extended period of coverage.
If you do not select extended warranty coverage at the time of purchase you have 20 days to change your mind and add the coverage. We want you to enjoy the peace of mind of owning a user-friendly GPS unit coupled with our exclusive GM extended warranty protection.
Warranty Options:
Free 1 Year- One Year Factory Warranty from the manufacturer, included FREE with purchase price.
Extended 2 Year - Second Year Extended Warranty from GM at terms outlined here. This warranty
begins on the day the Factory Warranty expires and extends the original warranty an additional year.
Extended 3 Year - Second & Third Year Extended Warranty from GM at terms outlined here. This
warranty begins on the day the Factory Warranty expires and extends the original warranty two additional years.
What is Covered?
The highest quality electronics and components are used in the manufacturing of your GPS unit. They are built to exacting standards under ISO-9000 quality control procedures. However, a very small percentage of units will and do develop problems or defects during their lifespan. The following are covered: displays, keypads, all internal electronics and normal functioning for the designed use of the unit. Excluded are obvious abuse of the unit, battery replacement, lost or damaged knobs, mounts, cables or accessories. However, most such components not included in the warranty can be replaced at a nominal cost by the manufacturer. Internal battery replacements can be done by Garmin repair by contacting them at 1-800-800-1020.
Terms and Conditions
To make a claim on a product covered under an extended warranty simply call us at (801)492-1231 or e-mail 24 hours a day to returns@megagps.com to report a covered defect. You must have your invoice number, serial number and date of purchase. You will be issued an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number which you must clearly write on the outside of the returned package. Upon receipt your unit will be examined by our tech support group to evaluate cause, defect and the best resolution. If the damage or defect is determined to be covered, the unit will be repaired or replaced at the sole discretion of GM. Each warranty claim must be accompanied by a $8.95 handling charge and the customer is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the unit. We cover all the parts and labor necessary to repair your GPS receiver to factory specifications in the event of any defects in materials or workmanship of your product for the coverage period. Note that this coverage extends only to the GPS receiver unit - cables and accessories are not included under this plan, even if included as accessories of your original model when purchased. When multiple units are purchased the warranty will only be honored if the same number of warranties are purchased.
Terms & Transferability
Your Extended Warranty Protection Plan begins the day the factory warranty expires and continues for either one or two years depending on the coverage purchased. The coverage follows the unit and can be transferred to any new owner if they possess the original invoice and warranty information.
Software Updates
You can upgrade your Garmin unit's software at any time by going to the www.garmin.comwebsite, search for your unit and select the updates option on the menu on the left and follow the directions.
Customer Service - Attentive Care Service.
You must have a valid RMA (return material authorization) number before the unit can be returned to us. Please note that you are responsible for the return shipping costs to us, and upon completion of the repair, we pay standard ground shipping charges to return the unit to you. All claims must be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice showing date of purchase. MegaGPS reserves the right to modify the terms & conditions of this program at any time, or to discontinue the program entirely, without notice.
